An experimental coronavirus vaccine being developed by the institute of Medical Biology, said that it was safe in an early stage clinical trial. Researchers said on Tuesday in a paper on medRxiv that in a phase 1 trial involving 191 healthy participants, no one in between 18 and 59 showed severe adverse reactions. The most common adverse reactions were mild pain, slight fatigue and redness, itching and swelling at the injection site.
The vaccine also induced an immune response.
The paper said that,“ this trial support the safety and immunogenicity of this inactivated vaccine” and that they are encouraging to study more about its efficacy in the future. Wang Zhigang, Chinese minister of Science and Technology said that they are having trials of 11 COVID -19 vaccines and that four of them has reached phase 3.
